California South Bay University (CSBU) is not only a university aiming at educating students advanced knowledge and skills leading to outstanding professional opportunities, but it also provides services to the community by sponsoring seminars in areas including natural sciences, engineering, and business. CSBU prides itself in being a leader providing access to all adult learners who want to further educate themselves in those disciplines.

The first professional seminar was held on July 28, 2008 at CSBU. The topic for the seminar is “green-energy technology” by Dr. Dan Teng. Dr. Teng earned his Ph.D. in semiconductor physics at University of Notre Dame, and he has worked in leading companies in the industry including Motorola, Zenith, and Casa Systems. He also has three years of teaching experience at college level. In the seminar, Dr. Teng introduced the origin, development, business opportunity, and outlook for the new solar energy technology. The information intended to teach attendees on what the green-energy technology is about, and to give them a big picture of the future of this promising field.
