Biotechnology Seminar & Open House (August 10, 2010, 12 pm- 1 pm)

California South Bay University Biotechnology Programs cordially invites you to attend our Biotechnology Seminar/ Open House on August 10, 2010 from noon (12 pm). Learn the job market and employment resources in Biotechnology, and learn how you can earn your Biotechnology Certificate and Master of Science in Biotechnology from an industry leader in biotechnology science research and education. Also, you will be informed about the application process of other degree programs and certificate programs, such as photovoltaic, medical programs, language, accounting, and etc. Our director of Biotechnology Program, Dr. Mao, will provide you with insights of biotechnology industry, including the job resources, job trends, and updates in the industry. Light refreshment and tuition coupon will be provided for participates.

'Biotech' represents a set of technologies joined by two key ingredients: entrepreneurs and money. It has showed tremendous potential to influence the hiring picture of our industry after few years of languishing in the background. Biotechnology also has the potential to bring forth a wave of new employment categories. Governments have promulgated several incentives to encourage the good growth of biotechnology industry and it will has a huge potential in the employment market.

Solar Energy Seminar & Open House (July 13, 2010, 12 pm)

California South Bay University is hosting an Solar Panel Technology Seminar to introduce solar panel industry updates, solar panel related job information, solar panel license achievement (such as NABCEP & C46), solar panel education programs. The seminar will be held on July 13, 2010, from 12 pm to 1 pm at California South Bay University. Light refreshment will be provided. The dean of our Green Energy School, Dr. Dan Teng, will provide you with insights of Solar Energy industry.

Solar Energy can be a complicated and broad topic to understand. California South Bay University has years of experience working with a broad range of Solar Energy employers, Solar Energy industry organizations, educational providers, and we are interested in ensuring that all of our students, neighborhood dealers, installers and partners have the opportunity to learn from Silicon Solar Trained Professionals and Technicians regarding today's newest solar products, hottest solar services, and have a strong grasp on all of the tools, skills and information they need to apply Solar Energy to their own home or business, or start their own Solar Energy Dealership or Installation Business.

2010 July 9 - CSBU Educational Programs Open House (download Open House flyer)

California South Bay University will be hosting an Open House event to introduce its educational programs: MBA & Master of Science in Computer Science. Students who are seeking advance level training in business and computer science industries are welcome to join and we would be happy to provide you admission requirement, application process, introduction of the programs, and campus tour. NACEF Received $7500 Grant from HSBC To Aid Low-Income Students

In an effort to help students with financial concerns but who are eager to learn, the North American Chinese Educational Foundation (NACEF) of California South Bay University (CSBU) established partnership with HSBC. HSBC, a reputable bank who constantly engages in charity donation, agrees to donate $7500 to NACEF as scholarship fund.

The North American Chinese Educational Foundation is a non-profit public organization incorporated under the Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation Law for charitable purpose. The goal of the organization is to facilitate educational and cultural exchange between United States and China. The foundation was established in 1998 by a group of enthusiastic Chinese students at Stanford University who believe that education is a key catalyst for driving the social and economic development between those two countries. Dr. Mike Mao was one of the key founders. Today, NACEF continues to operate under the leadership of Dr. Mike Mao.

Ling Li, President of CSBU, expressed her gratitude toward HSBC's donation to NACEF. She said that the scholarship would be a great help to students who would like to receive education and training to enhance their knowledge and skills but who may encounter financial difficulty to support their learning. In the future, CSBU will strive to provide more scholarship opportunities for students with low income or financial concerns so that they can fulfill their dream of advancing their career goals at CSBU.

Jan 07, 2010 - New academic publication by Dr. Dahai Liu

One of our faculty members, Dr. Dahai Liu, has published an article with a leading biology journey, "Molecular Cytogenetics" on 18 December 2009. The articles is named "Autistic disorder associated with a paternally derived unbalanced translocation leading to duplication of chromosome 15pter-q13.2: a case report". Dr. Dahai Liu is the director of Biology Department of our school. Dr. Dahai Liu achieved his Ph.D degree from UCLA in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and he also received his MS degree from UCLA. His emphasis is stem cell, immunology, genomics, genetics, cell biology, biochemistry, and molecular biology.

CSBU Accredited by IREC

California South Bay University's green energy program received accreditation from the Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC) in 2009. The Interstate Renewable Energy Council is the North American regional licensee of the ISPQ Standard 01021 for the Accreditation and Certification of Renewable Energy (RE)/Energy Efficiency (EE)/Distributed Generation (DG) Training Providers. IREC provides third-party assessment and qualification of training and workforce development programs to ISPQ Standards for the improvement of workforce preparation. ISPQ Standard 01021 outlines requirements for quality program management and administration. It requires trainers and program staff to have appropriate experience, defined job descriptions, and adequate training to perform their jobs competently. Obtaining accreditation from IREC means CSBU has the skills and resources to deliver high-quality training covering the skills and competency requirements of specific RE/EE/DG trades. CSBU Hosted the Integration of Chinese Culture and the World Culture Seminar

In an effort to promote Chinese folk culture, California South Bay University hosted the "How the Chinese Folk Culture Can Be Integrated Into the World Culture" Seminar. Many outstanding artists in music, arts, and dance from China attended the seminar to discuss how Chinese folk art workers can be more open to the world so that more people can understand and appreciate Chinese culture. CSBU is dedicated to be an advocate through providing an educational platform for future generation to learn and value the beauty of Chinese culture.

Photovoltaic Practitioner Certificate Program Accredited by IREC
(CSBU is a registered provider of the NABCEP Entry Level Exam)

Want to be part of a thriving green energy industry where there may be 3.3 million jobs in the next 10 years? To join California South Bay University's certificate program in Photovoltaic System Design and Installation. The introduction course prepares students for the Entry Level Certificate of Knowledge Exam for the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP). Passing the exam indicates industrial approval of professional knowledge of a PV system. Entry-level Certification Exam from NABCEP at CSBU is an option.
