Frequently Asked Questions
- What is Trimester program?
Trimester program is to have three terms in a year, which is different than a Semester program (2 terms in a year, 15 weeks of instruction each term) and a Quarter program (4 terms in a year, 10 weeks of instruction each term).
- Is Trimester Units equivalent to Semester Units or Quarter Units?
California South Bay University has a 15-week term Trimester program, which is equivalent to a semester credit unit when transferring.
- I want to apply for Master Degree, can I register the class through Open Enrollment Program?
Yes. Actually, it is good for those prospective students who want to take a graduate degree program, but not ready for application materials (transcripts, letter of recommendations, application forms). The earned credits can be transferred to the degree requirement, not exceeding the maximum transferring limits (9 credit units for M. S. degree). To register a class, simply register it online, pay the tuition, and attend to the class, no signature or approval are required. Only transferring units needs the signature and approval by the academic officer.
- I want to apply for Master Degree, do I need to take GRE?
GRE score is preferred, but not a requirement. If you already have a GRE score, it will speed up our evaluation process. But if you have not taken it, you can submit it later.
- Can I choose my own study advisor?
Yes, you can choose your own study advisor (just need to be approved by CSBU's academic officer). If you don't have an advisor, the academic officer will assign you one.
